Windflower Farm’s winter share consists of a collection of organically grown storage vegetables and greens, and apples, pears and cider from neighboring farms, all pre-packaged in a 1-bushel box. Winter share boxes will be delivered on four Saturdays during the winter (11/19/2011, 12/17/2011, 1/21/2012, 2/11/2012). West Harlem CSA Winter distributions will take place at Broadway Presbyterian Church, from 12:00 to 1:00.
Mary and Bob Pratt from Elihu Farm are also offering egg shares to Winter shareholders. If you purchase an egg share, it will be delivered along with your Winter vegetable share.
Have a great Winter and enjoy your Winter Share!
This year’s farm gathering for all Windflower Farm shareholders will take place during the August 28th-30th weekend. It’s timed to allow us all to attend the Washington County Fair on Sunday before going home
as well as enjoy the best swimming conditions on the Battenkill River (for those who arrive Friday PM or early Saturday).
Ted Blomgren, our farmer, will organize some farm tours at Windflower Farm (vegetables, berries and flowers) and at nearby Elihu Farm (egg share), and Lewis-Waite Farm (meats, etc.) for mid-day Saturday and Sunday morning. We’ll have a potluck meal on Saturday evening, followed by a hay ride to an overlook and a bon fire. Windflower Farm can offer camping at a site that offers running water, nice outhouses, a grill, ice chests, and limited refrigerator space. There are also a number of hotels and bed and breakfasts in the area around Valley Falls, where the farm is located. The farm will host breakfast for everyone on Sunday.
If you plan to attend, please RSVP by clicking here!
We have a wonderful opportunity to add some really delicious cheese shares to our CSA from 5 Spoke Creamery. 5 Spoke makes handcrafted, small batch cheeses from the raw milk of grass fed cows. This 6 month share will be delivered to our distribution site with delivery beginning on June 23rd. The cost is $90 per share. Please email me at WHarlemCSA@gmail.com if you would like to purchase a share. For more details about the share, go here!
The Lewis-Waite Farm orders are due next week Thursday, and Egg Share order forms are due next week Wednesday.
